Transit Word Pictures

Departed Home base at 4pm on Sunday, October 30. Will arrive at final destination at 2pm on Wednesday, November 2.

Pork and rice. Beef and rice. Duck and rice. Insert homemade banana bread. Drink water. Stretch. Walk. Do ankle circles. Double check boarding pass. Double check local time. Triple check boarding pass. Triple check local time. Look up time at home. Ponder the difference that puts me a day ahead. Drink more water. Take the airplane blanket after learning a lesson after the first layover. Drink more water. Quadruple check boarding time on the screen to make sure the gate stays the same.

Oh.

And breathe. And smile. And look at people's shoes. And their faces. Notice their unique characteristics. Listen to the music of languages. Avoid the temptation to stick in headphones all the time. Charge devices. Listen for the bi- or tri- lingual announcement of boarding commencement. Sleep. More ankle circles. Small glasses of apple juice and sprite.

Take in the sights. Take in the sounds. Take some photos. And when the travel concludes, God bless it...

Take a shower.
