(Realizing that I need to get my fundraising letters in the mail and as much info up on here and on fb as soon as possible--so, lucky Friday, today is the day that I am trying to get all of that taken care of! Hopefully I will have covered my bases by the end of this weekend, otherwise I have a feeling time will completely slip away from me!)

More details regarding WHY CAMEROON:
Summer 2011-Rozetta Baptist Church provided a Vacation Bible School for the community youth and hosted two different groups from Chicago--naming the weeks Missions Stays. Working within a 30-mile radius of Rozetta, Illinois, our main areas of ministry were in Monmouth (IL) and Stronghurst (IL) volunteering at the nursing homes and community centers and conducting a three-day mini-VBS in Monmouth at Lincoln Homes, a low-income housing community.
RBC member and missionary Toya McLean helped direct ground affairs during the week. A former Adventures in Missions (AIM) leader, Toya’s 2 1/2 of years of field experience brought a wealth of leadership and training opportunities, particularly to those included in the core RBC Missions Team. As Toya sought to expand her missions work to the African country of Cameroon, RBC partnered with her. Now the spiritual headship to Toya’s organization His Body Ministries based in Buea, Cameroon, RBC has invited Toya back multiple times and felt blessed to work with her again during the Missions Stay. In the Fall of 2011 she will be moving to Cameroon to start another year of ministry school.
With international missions in mind, Toya’s work in Cameroon provides a wonderful opportunity for the veteran RBC Missions Team. After encouragement from Toya in pursuing the idea (we would be working with His Body Ministries), an exploratory meeting was held. The best time frame looked to be June 2012, and total estimated expenses would be around $4,000 per person (this includes travel expenses, food and lodging, transportation on the ground, medical expenses, and trip insurance). “Roon in June!” has become the popular catchphrase for the group!
RBC Missions have been on several missions trips over the last few years (West Virginia-2x, Arizona, Atlanta, Grenada, and hosting missions) and we are very excited to add the trans-Atlantic trip to the list! Thank you so much for your help and support in our endeavor to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior!
Thank you for all of your prayers, encouragement, and support--what a blessing it is to have such a wonderful TEAM to work with as I travel along this road and continue this ADVENTURE!
